Hi love,

This month we're sharing two of our most favourite Ethiopian coffees we've ever had.

Both from the same cooperative in Limu, Ethiopia with the difference being their processing.

These coffees are so refreshing, and perfect for this summer heat.

Let's dive in

A Moment to Reflect:

While sitting under the strawberry moon on the night of summer solstice, I thought about summer as a feeling.

Summer gets busy, with forward movement, and seems to maintain the blossoming growth that's carried over from spring, and I’m leaning fully into it.

My practice right now is finding the slow moments, even within the summer energy.

Enjoy some iced coffee, take a dip in the lake, walk by the ocean.

It's beautiful out there, enjoy it. 🤍

Let's take a close look at each coffee.

· 01

Sensory Experience

A bright, citrus forward cup, with juicy peach mid-tones and a refreshing finish of sparkling limeade that lingers on the tongue.

· 02

Sensory Experience

Like biting into a fresh nectarine, balanced by notes of jasmine green tea, finishing with a light note of sweet rhubarb

  • Coffee Variety & Processing

Mostly comprised of JARC 74110 with small amounts being 74177, these coffees are grown organically and processed using washed & honey techniques respectively. Being shade-dried on raised beds with each lot labeled for traceability. Needless to say, the processing at Kenissa Cooperative is top-notch.

  • About Kenissa Cooperative

Kenissa Cooperative was founded in 2018 and processes coffee for its 305-310 smallholder members, most of which grow the JARC 74110 variety with a few still growing 74177. Kenissa’s leadership is exceptionally committed to its success, with former members who’ve secured their own export licenses still serving on its board or in management roles to help their community and improve the incomes and livelihoods of its members.
